The Web Poetry Corner - M A Heathcote - He lit the porches on the prairie

He lit the porches on the prairie

by

M A Heathcote

He lit the porches on the prairie
Where menís hearts grow weak and weary
And by unseen controls he set them free
Wondering the still pastures besides a tree
Where lay in wait shone a golden desire
Soft burning as a suns warm amethyst fire
Here have they found anew suns warmth
Sap thirsting as the ashen camphor, hearth
Quivering she a turtle dove, a little clumsy
Firms the flower stems of dew drop honey.
