The Web Poetry Corner - M A Heathcote - And forever let mine, be thine

And forever let mine, be thine

by

M A Heathcote

Hold now tight my empty shadow
That drifts upon the lawn of time
Hold now tight the sequestered hour
Like a handpicked woodland lily flower
And forever let mine, be thine;

In that serpentine grass; like a caddis fly
Where life is newborn delivered into life?
Hold now tight those bound-up chains of light
Those shadows that linger from the dungeons
Of the night:
And forever let mine, be thine.
