Someone else
by
M A Heathcote
I sensed a tidal wave of remorse
A no-mans-land of pain
Changing course-
All at sea-Across a desert plain of hurt
I sensed a deeper sense of despair
Held in endless disrepair
Rolling black like thunder
Waiting for that last bolt of true love
To set a sunder
To that thin vale
Of passions last dying ember...
In your arms I’ll drown with you
My girl for ever
Beckoning the hollow silence’s that grew
To dissipate like a cloud of winter dew
In your arms I’ll drown with you
In these dark sardonic oceans of iridescent blue
I still cling my darling to you
Oh I sensed an unaccountable faith
Swimming free to the sea
From a shallow reef
Oh I sensed times bloody wraith
Cutting me down like a common thief
Oh I sensed sadness primarily
In a chapel of rest
Seeing you in your white dress
All at sea, I’m all at sea
Watching you make your vows to someone else
who isn’t me
I sensed a tidal wave of remorse
A no-mans-land of pain
Changing course-
Across a desert plain of hurt
I sensed a deeper sense of despair
Held in endless disrepair
Rolling black like thunder
Waiting for that last bolt of true love
To set a sunder
To that thin vale
Of passions last dying ember...
