Conquistador
by
M A Heathcote
Boy if you want to save my honour
You can be the flagship in my armada
You can be my conquistador
But baby I’m sure to wipe the floor
With any Spanish matador
Baby you could be my Columbus
I’m sure to be the polar north
To your compass
The longitude and latitude
Around the new Americas
Oh baby; I’m a mermaid swimming
In your deep blue eyes
Can’t you see?
You’ve got to swim this tidal wave back me
Because I’m now drowning, dreaming,
Somewhere within!
With you again!
Oh baby: You’ve left me breathless
Lost in the Bermudas
Conquistador I might just fall for you
If you fall for me
I might just love the breaking waves
Of your arms around me!
Baby, Columbus can just go back to sea
And leave this world to you and me
We’ll discover the universe
And burst heavens bubble
Just you wait and see
Oh baby; I’m a mermaid swimming
In your deep blue eyes
Can’t you see?
You’ve got to swim this tidal wave back me
because I’m now drowning, dreaming,
Somewhere within!
With you again!
OH baby you can sail my Americas
Your polar north will be my compass
{My American dream}
You can sail becalmed through the Bermudas
The seven wonders my conquistador
Oh you can be my matador!
