The Web Poetry Corner - Luigi Lalumia - Ten Years Ago

Ten Years Ago

by

Luigi Lalumia

As the seasons change
So do I
I may fight to change myself
With all my might I cant change the one I love
Just break away - fall to pieces
The mirrors image is not myself
Just a lonely hollow shell
With a bleeding heart taken out
placed upon a shelf

I turn the page
It reads the same
It starts with love then fades to hate
I can burn the book
The words remain

With a single wisp of your breath
I could swim the widest sea
Just to look into your eyes -
Deep and blue
I would walk over white hot coals
All for you
I would stare death and despair strait in the face
With you by my side
Nothing could replace the warmth of your love in my heart

It's something so real
I reach to touch it
So close it burns to think it

The love I feel for you belittles the largest mountain

My tears fall and form a winding stream - deep and wide
I thought it would feed the fruits of your love
As wide and deep as the stream may be
The depth would never reach the roots buried deep beneath the womb of your own
world
