The Web Poetry Corner - Luigi Lalumia - Futures Past

Futures Past

by

Luigi Lalumia

You will cry today
Today you will smile too

Do not sip the glass of life from the rim
with a tearful eye

Drink Deep-
Fill your glass with simple joys and happy memories
These are the true fruits of the vine we call life

Be happy as you look forward
Past the bottom of the glass tipped upward

You control the futures past

The love and laughter-
Even tears you make today
Are tomorrows memories
Memories that will last and last and last

You will cry today
Today you will smile too
