In a space in my heart lurks a wish I’ll return
To the source of a spark burning bright in my soul
In the still of the night where faint fancies stir
Moonlight chills flesh, smarts eyes to a blur.
Why have you left me alone in dark sorrow,
Cold feeling inside, no plans for tomorrow?
Dawn graces east, scarlet-glow embers
Loving times shared, lost, still remembered.
Come back from beyond, come into my arms,
I’m nothing without you, sweet prince of charms.
It’s small consolation chasing moonbeams,
Each night a desert of abandoned dreams
You fought mighty battles and overcame fears,
In a brave quest for life, you struggled for years.
Happiness severed by cruel hands of death:
Our short spell together gone with your breath.
In God’s heavenly garden you rest high above
Surrounded by angels, tended by love
In prayers I seek out that comforting place
Where Paradise folds you in gentle embrace.
