The Web Poetry Corner - Laura Beth Leither - Perceptions

Perceptions

by

Laura Beth Leither

It's all in how you see it
Your perception says it all
How much you will permit
When you look back and recall

The world seems so clear
Until you know it's not true
That what you seem to fear
May look green but is blue

You see the things you see
Not how they really are
But how your life should be
Viewed once you are afar

You carry such beliefs
Wherever you may go
But they are just motifs
To cloud your thoughts' flow

And everyone is guilty now
Of this so-called crime
We all will just allow
Perceptions to keep the time
