The Rain
by
Kristen Laliberte
i feel the rain on my face,
each drop toucing a different place.
falling on my eyes,
reminding me of the tears i have shed because of your lies.
trailing along my check,
bringing back the shame i felt each time you began to speak.
running along my nose,
reminding me of the lies that you told and the pain that continuously grows.
touching my lip,
bringing back the guilt that, at my soul, continues to rip.
slidding down my chin, falling to the ground,
quitely, continuously, never making a sound.
with a liquid center and shimmering walls,
it catches the sunlight as it falls,
turning into a prism of light, this tiny drop makes a such a beautiful sight.
creating a shimmering rainbow, giving hope that soon, everything will be alright.
