The Web Poetry Corner - Kenneth R. Bays - The Raglesville Store

The Raglesville Store

by

Kenneth R. Bays

Many years ago when I was young,
I remember a place where I had so much fun.
The place was called the Raglesville store,
It provided food and so much more.
In times of school it's where we went,
To wait on the bus and spend our few cents.
There was Johnnie and Norman and Carla too,
Bonnie and Jim just to name a few.
In summer time when school was out,
We'd gather there to play about.
At night we'd sit upon it's porch,
To watch the traffic go back and forth.
Now times gone by and I'm so much older,
What I wouldn't give to go back and start over.
