The Web Poetry Corner - Kenneth R. Bays - My Puppy

My Puppy

by

Kenneth R. Bays

I had a little puppy and he was black as could be.
And everywhere that I would go he would follow me
When night came and it was very dark.
I could never find him unless he would bark.
He wasn’t very big and he wasn’t very bold,
But he would do what ever he was told.
He liked to run and jump so very high,
And it looked so very much like he was trying to fly.
If I ever lost him I know that I would cry.
And I would miss him until the day I die.
