The Web Poetry Corner - Kenneth R. Bays - A Proud American

A Proud American

by

Kenneth R. Bays

I've crossed America from coast to coast,
I'm so proud of our country, we have so much to boast.
Like the Rocky Mountains way up high,
Streaching across the big blue sky.
And the Grand Canyon, it's no joke,
Why I bet it could hold a billion boats.
I've gone where the Cowboys used to ride and rope,
And where the Indians used to signal with smoke.
From ocean to ocean and in between,
There is so much beauty to be seen.
As you travel across this great land,
There is one thing you need to understand.
To live in our country, the price isn't free,
Our soldiers give their lives for you and me.
I pray every night to God above,
To protect our soldiers with all his love.

Why don't you look at I'm Fine Just Fine
