In time we lose a love of fun
Wave goodbye to leisure.
Perhaps the life I run upon
Moves too fast for pleasure.
Infinite darkness spins me out.
Some day ago there shone
Coloured lights in fairground bright
Like passing doves they’ve gone
Now here I stand with empty eye
Perceptions lost in rain.
You say there’s something better, well
Those promises disdain
