A genius with measured poetry!

coincidence in the rhyming here.
Under French influence, he also wrote
The Dream Poem - Book of The Duchess.
As a travelled poet of the times, he
met Italian Writers Boccaccio and Dante,
writing on Courtly Love, such as Romance
of The Rose. And he gave his opinions
on problems concerning the Church.
Geoffrey Chaucer was taken prisoner in
French Wars, ransomed by Edward III.
Later he became Justice of the Peace,
Kent, and Knight of the Shire 1386.
He moved onward to Somerset and then
to Westminster, where he died.

I must admit, I have enjoyed writing
about such a great Author as Chaucer.
