British Novelist,
Statesman and Poet,
Born in Perth, Tayside,
eighteen seventy-five
died nineteen forty.
He carried the Title
First Baron Tweedsmuir
and was called to the
Bar - aged twenty-six.
John Buchan was famous
for his thriller, the
Thirty-nine Steps, which
was made into a film by
Alfred Hitchcock, pre-war.
He also wrote biographies
of the Greats...Raleigh,
Cromwell, Caesar and Augustus.
JOHN BUCHAN, for five years
held the post of Governor
General, Canada. He was
writing novels right up
to the day he died.
