Series of famous
British names:
VIVIEN LEIGH
Beautiful British Actress.
Although born in Darjeeling,
as Vivian Mary Hartley, her
parents settled in England
where Vivien was Convent-
educated...later to study
acting at London's Royal
Academy of Dramatic Art. She
was married for five years
to Leigh Holman.
VIVIEN LEIGH became a very
famous British actress, with
a beauty beyond compare.
She played the role of Sabina
in The Skin of Our Teeth, and
of Blanche in Streetcar named
Desire, receiving a film Oscar.
Later, played Lady Hamilton
in the film of that name. She
will be well remembered for her
role as Scarlett O'Hara in
Gone With The Wind (1939)
co-starring with the great star,
CLARK GABLE, as Rhett Butler.
Vivien Leigh and Lord Olivier
were married, a romance that
lasted for twenty years. Vivien
was reputed to be the most
beautiful woman worldwide,
and that could not be denied.
Her story was a sad story, as
she died at the age of fifty-four,
alone in her London Apartment.
But we will never foget her
ability, charm, beauty and sheer
elegance. Our own VIVIEN LEIGH.
