Series of famous

of ~DANIEL DEFOE~ Author
of "Robinson Crusoe."
English novelist and
journalist, his talent
a great gift, every Briton
should know so.
History tells us that he
took part in Monmouth's
rebellion and joined
William of Orange. He
first became famous when
he wrote the novels
The True Born Englishman
and Shortest Way with
Dissenters. For the latter,
he was fined, undermined
and imprisoned in Newgate
where he wrote Hymn To The
Pillory. Robinson Crusoe
was based on Alexander
Selkirk's true life when he
was marooned for some time
on Juan Fernandez Island.
Other novels, papers and
reviews followed including
Journal of the Plague Years.
DANIEL DEFOE died age
seventy-one and his name
will never be forgotten.
