Joyce Hemsley
Series of famous
British names:
Archives include brilliant
and original writings and
drawings of Nineteenth Century
British Genius, first computer
pioneer "CHARLES BABBAGE"
born 1791 died 1871, age 80.
Invented mechanical calculating
engines, a show of remarkable
intelligence...and the name of
CHARLES BABBAGE lives on in
Computer Centres to this day
and the world honours his name.
The first electronic computer,
"the Colossus" came later in the
Second World War, nineteen forty
three; developed in Britain by
British Genius, Thomas Flowers.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
From now onwards, I am heading
this series of great names -
"One of Britain's Best"...
this gives a truer meaning.
