Writings of Passion
by
Joyce Hemsley
Once there was a lonely man
A quiet and a talented man
Who had a secret mission.
His 'hermit' life just floated by
To his youth he said goodbye
And pursued a literary ambition.
All year through he longed to write
His poems were a sweet delight,
written with words of passion.
His novels were a work of art,
Stories which embraced the heart -
He kept them in a closet.
But one winter's morn at break of day
Fire swept his world away;
Gone was he; and his ambition!
Only the Angels in Heaven above
Knew of his talent and his love,
For lost were his writings of passion.
