The Web Poetry Corner - Joyce Hemsley - Without

Without

by

Joyce Hemsley

Dedicated to Steven

Without sweet birds
up in the trees
how dull would be
the month of May.
Without sweet lambs
in grasses green
how dull would be
the mountain way.
And without the
smile you bring
to me - how dull
would be each
live-long day.
