Wise Man

He will rest upon his laurels,
Retire - whilst still at the top,
Quite clearly he can see the ladder
Down which his ratings soon may drop.

A wise man who can see his limits.
Who gave his lifetime to the cause.
May someone new 'retrieve the ashes'.
With honour, he will close the doors.
