The Web Poetry Corner - Joyce Hemsley - Wedding Sonnet
Wedding Sonnet
by
Joyce Hemsley
He awoke to golden glory,
the skies were azure blue,
on a sunny morn in England
when his bride would say "I do".
Wedding bells in blossom time,
her cheeks with rosy hue,
as choir-boys sing so sweetly
his wish is coming true...
A little cottage waits there,
in a valley beyond the hills,
where he will live with his
new bride, beside the daffodils.
A haven for the pure white dove
and a resting place to share his love.
