Romeo and Juliet
by
Joyce Hemsley
Romeo was a kind young man, of culture and good breeding;
Juliet was a beauty queen, with a manner quite appealing.
A distinguished-looking couple, no-one could ever deny;
but Juliet was a femme fatale - flirtatious, coy and shy.
Off with the old on with the new, was Juliet's secret motto,
Romeo waited in the wings; a man possessed with sorrow.
In time Juliet changed her ways, said "no" to all the others
Romeo was her mega-star, her one and only lover...
So she vowed to 'have and hold', to leave her Romeo never;
a love story written in the stars; Romeo & Juliet for ever!
