The Web Poetry Corner - Joyce Hemsley - Nature's Blip

Nature's Blip

by

Joyce Hemsley

Winds blew through the crying leaves
Although the sun was shining.
A chill was in the summer air,
As daytime was declining.

Dark clouds concealed the moon and stars,
Night-time was upon us.
Streets were bare, a storm was nigh -
Destruction was disastrous!

Trees uprooted; roof-tops down,
And families torn asunder,
Terror filled each frightened heart
With every clap of thunder.

But sunshine soon forgave the storm
As just a passing ship,
And crying leaves they smiled once more
Disregarding nature's blip.
