The Web Poetry Corner - Joyce Hemsley - Harassing Fly

Harassing Fly

by

Joyce Hemsley

Oh tedious humming blowfly
metalic blue and green fly
please go away
and lay your eggs
anywhere but here.

I have no rotting tissue,
no drains or waste material;
please take your leave
and find a place
far away from here.

Then I will close my windows.
I will shut my doors,
and spray to keep
your germs at bay
Bluebottle, can you hear?

I know about you,
harassing fly,
and the speed at which
you multiply!
