Gates of Gold
by
Joyce Hemsley
As he was sleeping in his bed,
he heard an angel say
"come oh come to Heaven,
come hither, thou, today."
So he travelled through the tunnel
till a bright light he could see,
again he heard the angel saying
"come hither thou with me."
He came upon a heavenly land
where milk and honey flow,
and he met the folk he loved
from many years ago.
And the music swelled about him,
minuets and choruses grand,
and he saw the great composers
resting in this wonderland.
Choirs of angels songs were singing,
words of happiness they told;
he was with a band of angels
stepping through The Gates of Gold.
