Garden of Delight
by
Joyce Hemsley
Daffodil, my daffodil, how you fill me with delight,
growing each Spring, when blossoms sing and my garden
shines so bright. Without you my sweet daffodil, there
would be no golden sight - just an empty space, no
smiling face in my garden of delight. I water you and
tend you, before I say "goodnight", and I dread mid-May
at the break of day, when your yellow bloom takes flight.
So please linger a little longer in my garden of delight.
