The Web Poetry Corner - John William McGrath III - Women, Men, & Peace

Women, Men, & Peace

by

John William McGrath III

Women are from Venus, men are from Mars
Men drive the tanks, women drive cars
Men are the masters of the art of war
Women love men, but hate war to the core

If men would listen to sisters and mothers
Wars would end and there'd never be others
Violence represented anywhere is suspect
Men are working also, peace as the prospect

Mars in the ascendent for certain cultures
Claiming, it's for peace, so say the vultures
But peace can only come from the heart
And in each of us is a fine place to start
