The Web Poetry Corner - John William McGrath III - War

War

by

John William McGrath III

War, a hopeless enterprise
A useless venture of hate
A plan where everyone dies
One way or another their fate

You lose someone a part of you dies
Insane people filled with wrath
loving the sounds of a mother's cries
Power craved, they've done the math

They just can't wait to burn in hell
They give it all up for a moment in time
Why do they do it and who can tell?
How can they commit the horrible crime?

One day war will be understood
In that day we will have risen above
Every earthling will desire good
This planet will be filled with love
