The Web Poetry Corner - John William McGrath III - The Stranger

The Stranger

by

John William McGrath III

A Stranger
One little tulip
In a field of roses
How did she get there?
A curiosity

She is a perfect tulip
As lovely as we've seen
Between two rose bushes
She stands there so proud

Even those just loving roses
Are admiring her charming form
No one would dare remove her
Lest they spite themself

My! what a lovely yellow
In a field of red
She will stay forever
So the owner said
