The Web Poetry Corner - John William McGrath III - The Heart Is A Stranger

The Heart Is A Stranger

by

John William McGrath III

I saw you crying, you were a stranger
I looked around there was no danger
The hurt you felt was tearing you apart
So as I watched I held you in my heart

At the airport, I saw an airplane land
A cheerful man, came and held your hand
You were happy, love seemed to flow
I smiled then, my heart could let you go
