The Web Poetry Corner - John William McGrath III - Posterity

Posterity

by

John William McGrath III

A few people were watching bricklayers
They were so fast and proficient
An interesting operation with many players
Each did well and were so efficient

As I watched a gentleman dropped a quarter
I saw it and thought to make the call
Just then a man scooped it up in the mortar
To my amazement it became part of the wall
