Poetry contest, Oh that I had the means
To enter this, or just be there to see
Present poets of renown, kings and queens
To find my metered words of boast and plea

Among the other hopefuls, chatting happily
About our metaphoric highs and inspirations
Painting the etherial or a march on Tripoli
Hoary imaginings voiced in our exhalations

Sharing dreams of our own great expectations
Perhaps a shared impromtu poem on the spot
With a brand new friend sharing creations
A lifetime friend at that I'm sure as not

Another time! I'm assured there will be others
Where ever it is held I'll make it there
Anticipating meeting my sisters & brothers
At that festival of light, a metaphoric fair
