The Web Poetry Corner - John William McGrath III - Last Journey

Last Journey

by

John William McGrath III

Show me the way to the that cotton like cloud
To the place where the music is not very loud
Where I can meet all of the family I miss
To once again feel my sweet mother's kiss

To say to my father I've really missed you
To hear him say Child, I've missed you too
May I cross over the river to the heavenly bank
There are so many there that I wish to thank

For the teachings I've had when I was young
For family and friends I once was among
A fine celebration with all the heavenly host
With a real introduction to the Holy Ghost

I've spent my time on earth, now I am done
It is time I know to make my heavenly run
I am hurting now in this body, so inoppertune
So don't cry for me, I'll be seeing you soon
