Have Faith in Yourself
by
John William McGrath III
I read so many poems of those in pain
Whom I'd like to walk with in the rain
To sit and talk of rhyme in the sun
To take them back to when life was fun
Though running the streets and raped
In an orphanage with my mouth taped
Looking for freedom at an early age
Longing to just get away from that stage
Working, renting a room, & going to school
I wasn't going to be anyone's fool
I quit school and joined the Marines
Working there on the flying machines
Met the most fabulous woman to wife
That was the beginning of a fabulous life
We've been married now for 46 years
Happiness is the reason for my tears
There is a person somewhere for everyone
Have faith in yourself and your someone
When you find them it is in their eyes
Only love in your life and no more lies
