Harmony
by
John William McGrath III
My heart sings an etheric song
From way down in my soul
And my spirit goes along
On bubbles in my breast
O' sweet concerto up above
I love it way up here
It mixes with the Robin's song
And little Bunting Blue
And now the angels sing along
Oh my... What did I do?
The mighty nature's choral group
Has joined us in a sing along
But the small out of tune children
Sing the sweetest song
I can't understand their words
not a single phrase. But they I
will remember, for all my living days
Sweet innocents, all up here with me
Sweet innocents, young forever free
They are the way I was, and part of
me still is, or else I could not sing
this song, that began this harmony
for my heart to sing along, with spirit
and with soul, to stay half in this reverie
for life, is my precious goal
