Happiness
by
John William McGrath III
An awarenes with varying degrees of pleasure
From a gentle contenment to joy beyond measure
Happiness is the heart of being cheerful
We can often be so happy we are tearful
A smile as you know is so contagious
Listening to music one day quite outragious
I was wearing a smile from ear to ear
Every one in their cars showed their cheer
That is the kind of memory I savor
Spreading happiness did us all a favor
A simple smile can save a stranger's life
And is certain to bring joy to any wife
I am so happy to be in this world today
Although I am old and my hair is grey
I am so full of joy for mine and yours
As the exuberant youth it fills my pores
