Halloween
by
John William McGrath III
On Halloween the three foot ghosts
and goblins roam the country's streets
No one's candy is safe, beware, hosts
Be cautious, tricks come from no treats
Monsters from the pits of...er.. neigborhood
Frightening us half to... hmmm.. the kitchen?
Ok! ok! I'm ok! The parents better be good
Or else someone with the power will bewitchin'
Hey! I'm a poet! I can do spells I betcha
I don't think you can get in any trouble
As long as the witch's union doesn't catchya
I can do this! Cauldren boil, boil, and bubble
Little monsters now be thou handy
Scare all the big people really good
If you do you will get your candy
And perhaps will go to hollywood
I just love being a big kid in this day and age
Practicing for the great grandkids on this night
For most of the year I just play the sage
Those four year olds will give me such a fright
