Gaia
by
John William McGrath III
I stood in the Temple of the Desert morning
I was transported to the sight of the sun
By the conveyance of my Mother, Earth
I was enthralled as I watched her rim
Slowly reveal the majesty of our light source
Our Grandmother the sun, standing in the center
Of all of the children under her guardianship
Doing pirouettes, setting an example for them
I enjoy the sights my mother takes me to
The bounty of nature beautiful to behold
As I remain aware of my journey from West to East
It is a wonder to me that I travel so far so fast
That the marvelous azure skies become a dark
Background for the evening night show displayed
Without fail each and every day for our pleasure
That I feel the energy and love from Mother Earth
The caress of her etherial self, holding me to her
And every being on and in her a portion of her love
Her thoughts are above ours, her love Divine
This Goddess Gaia! Energy personified in Matter
