The Web Poetry Corner - John William McGrath III - Empty
Empty
by
John William McGrath III
What do I long for in my spirit?
Honestly, What do I desire?
As a human, do I want to hear it?
To what, really, does my soul aspire
I say that I long to see my God...
But at this moment, I can't emote
I feel no desire, I feel like a clod
I cannot see, why am I so remote?
There is no sadness, nothing here
Here am I, far from my normal state
My feelings are rife, Sadness to cheer
But not now, they are all in subjugate
To what? I am not tired! nor sleepy
I started out to write a lovely verse
Normally I would say this is creepy
but I am comfortable, there is no curse
The closest I can come, is meditation
Eyes open, working on my rhyme
I know, this thought is overdone
I have no answer, Perhaps another time
NEXT?
Why don't you look at
Awake Child...
