The Web Poetry Corner - John William McGrath III - Echos Of Laughter

Echos Of Laughter

by

John William McGrath III

In the old school halls, no school any more
Standing alone, I've entered time's door
I see all the kids in the hall by their pals
Anticipating good times, both guys and gals

Everybody said hi to everyone they walked by
The teachers enjoyed the sudents, no lie!
I see the smiles, most all spirits are high
If someone was down and wanted to cry

All were concerned and gave them our cheer
Soon they were laughing, gladness was here
If you're shy, you'd come out of your shell
For everone in our scool was treated well

Yes! these quiet halls echoed with laughter
And higher learning was what we were after
Most of my friends are doctors and such
It was wonderful, I still love them so much
