Conciousness, Awareness
by
John William McGrath III
It has been said we grow and become a new self
I say we grow and become the self of our beginning
Some "experts" of renown are filled with so much pelf
Denying all but materiality as our underpinning
A raw poet can see more than so much theory
Which is a hunch with an extended school degree
Much learning about an elusive subject of much query
Explaining little of awareness belonging to you & me
A teacher held in awe said I see nature from my skull
I have looked at my skull from the front out of my body
So there is much upon my study that I am forced to cull
And inspiration may strike even when imbibing a hot toddy
The quandry is, does mind preceed the body's self awareness?
Why did my son at three, say he was my father long before?
A skeptic is a person in denial, and with the truth is careless
I say we are so much more, with the Creator at the core!
