Can I begin To Tell You
by
John William McGrath III
I cannot tell you how much I love you
But I cannot stop trying to let you know
Can the flower stop trying to reach the sun?
Can the apple blossoms hide among the branches?
My mind dances as the dervish, the spin of ecstacy
My heart races at the sound of your footsteps darling
Though You are mine and love me true, I fixate on you
I must let you know there's not another lovely as you dear
You walk in the garden at times a misty haze surrounds you
As if you are to be untouched by earthly cares or gazes
Other times you shine my dear near bright as the sun
And otherworldly graciousness is such a part of you
Now my sweet you hold a bird there in your hand
I swear the trees bow to you as walk by them
My love what are these powers you possess?
I only know for sure I'm so in love with you
