The Web Poetry Corner - John William McGrath III - A Solitary Cloud

A Solitary Cloud

by

John William McGrath III

O little cloud up in the blue
I wish that I were such as you
A focal point up there on high
You are all alone in the sky

Floating with the gentle wind
Looking from rose to tamarind
Admiring the curvature of earth
And the waters that gave you birth

You are a free spirit or so it seems
With freedom only found in dreams
Oh! another is forming next to you
I feel so happy to have this view

As I gaze lazily from my advantage
I am amazed to see you both engage
You'ved joined as one to my delight
And it seems you're almost out of sight
