The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - Sharia Law is coming to a place near you

Sharia Law is coming to a place near you

James Bredin

The appointed Supreme Court is going to decide,
The status of Shariah law and when they’ll preside,
Confusion about Christmas and maybe Easter too,
Should they be banned in the next legal review?

And just like same-sex marriage - no questions allowed,
Canadians will behave because we’re just so proud,
We believe the authorities and it can’t be changed,
Those few who object are obviously deranged.

They’ll accept no Christmas or Easter like no hockey,
Though for a little while things might be a bit rocky,
Who needs Christmas or Easter when we’ll have Shariah law?
‘Cause without referendums, the people can’t withdraw.
