The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - Concordia University

Concordia University

by

James Bredin

Concordia University claims freedom of speech,
Provided you say what certain people want to teach,
Would not allow Ehud Barak to speak to the scholars,
Did they bend to those who tend to scream and holler?

Nor would they allow Benjamin Netanyahu to speak,
Is that the place run by the submissive and the meek?
Censorship at the university doesn’t seem right,
It may produce students that are not all that bright.

Does freedom of speech reign or do they hold it in distain?
Does academic query stop or go down the drain?
Is bullying and intimidation not controlled?
What type of students will be produced from this mould?
