The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - Chretien
Deflection, defiance and everything denied,
Appointees in high places always obliged,
Showers of scandals behind window-dressing lace,
That legacy of Liberal lechery in your face.
How ethics could be sidetracked into a distant place,
APEC, Somalia, Shawinigate and Airbus set the pace,
Without referendums or recall there was no regress,
Did I mention term limits but I digress.
While Lesser Liberals had their media agenda,
As they constantly pumped out daily propaganda,
From behind-the-scenes of intrigue and machinations,
Goebbels didnít have such an imagination.
A legacy of lechery left for history,
Lost somewhere in a paper shredder mystery,
Where those who could change things all owed their jobs to him,
Therefore he never worried about being out on a limb.
