The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - Canadian Crown Corporations

Canadian Crown Corporations

by

James Bredin

The real creepy crawlers hide in crown corporations,
Federal bureaucrats hidden in foundations,
Liberal appointed commissars without question,
Where they hide taxpayers’ money without discretion.

And they never need receipts with the numbers hidden,
Where Auditor Generals and others forbidden,
Where they hire friends and neighbors to six figure jobs,
And Liberal media never mentions these knobs.

They go on fact-finding missions all over the globe,
And because we never hear, there’s no need to probe,
Hidden in the Access Act away far away,
Because we’re so submissive with big feet of clay.

No referendums or recall for politicians,
As they get appointed to countless commissions,
And you can’t ask an appointed judge one question,
As a female Liberal speaks without discretion.
