Canadian Capital Punishment
Goody-two-shoe politicians succeeded long ago,
They and their political associates said no,
To hanging murderers of innocent folk,
No free votes in parliament and done with one stroke.
So those who shoot, kill or murder with a knife,
No matter what they do they won’t hang or get life,
Out in fifteen years because of the faint-hope clause,
Hidden in their legislation among the many flaws.
After all these stabbers and shooters all have their rights,
Especially if it happens during one of their fights,
And they kill a member from a different group,
Like a cop and leave him as dead as a big pile of poop.
Because no one will tell or they could be dead too,
And the cops are looking for that one missing clue,
And even if they find it, there’s nothing much to fear,
Plead guilty and in and out in only fifteen years.
