Advice to Young Guys
This advice should be kept well hidden under your hat,
Because human nature is in love with combat,
And this love affair is always pushed by propaganda,
If a distant war is part of the pious agenda.
Show me those who want you to go to some far off battle,
As they move the media so their sabers can rattle,
And give you a reason or maybe a chance to get killed,
And Iíll show you those who can avoid it all with skill.
Show me a political appointee with a title,
And Iíll show you where bias is veiled but not vital,
Show me those who are so politically correct,
And Iíll show you those who are difficult to detect.
Show me those who have been given slight authority,
And act as though they have an absolute majority,
Or those who want to call a war another UN name,
Observe them politely from a distance in their game.
So our politicians are never up to much,
As they tax and travel the world and stay out of touch,
And search down at the UN for a reason and agenda,
Though they will never never allow referenda.
